
Scholarships and bursaries
St Cyprian’s School awards a select number of scholarships and bursaries to students entering Grade 8 who have demonstrated excellence or prowess in academics, music, sport or a combination thereof and show evidence of financial need. The value of the scholarships and bursaries can range between 10% and 75% of tuition fees.
Scholarship/bursary application process
- Complete a general Grade 8 application form
- Download and complete the scholarship or bursary application form (up to three scholarship forms can be completed)
- Ensure that your daughter meets the minimum eligibility requirements
- Write a motivation of financial need letter
- Combine the completed application form with all supporting documents including: Grade 6 Term 4 school report, motivation letter, mini-CV, reference letter, copies of awards and the financial need letter. Combine these documents into a single PDF and email it to scholarships@stcyprians.co.za
- Once received, the Admissions Office will send a financial assistance form. Complete this form and submit the required financial documentation
- Selected scholarship and bursary applicants will be invited to write the scholarship examination
- Selected music scholarship applicants will be invited to a practical music audition and theory test
- The final scholarship and bursary selection will be made from candidates who are invited to an interview with the principal and have submitted their financial assistance form and supporting documentation

Academic scholarship
This scholarship is rewarded to candidates with strong, consistent results and intellectual curiosity. Recipients are expected to maintain high standards and contribute to academic life.
Music scholarship
This scholarship is for instrumentalists or vocalists with proven ability and commitment. Shortlisted applicants will be required to complete a practical audition and theory assessment.
Sport scholarship
Athletes with exceptional skill, attitude and commitment will considered for this scholarship. Recipients will be expected to represent St Cyprian’s School in their chosen sports and contribute positively to team culture.
One Girl at a Time academic scholarship
This is a flagship award offering 80% tuition support for a high-achieving student who is strong academically and contributes broadly to school life in sport or the arts. Boarding support may be considered where appropriate.
Bursary
This bursary supplies means-tested support in respect of tuition fees. Uniforms, books, devices and extras are excluded. Awards are reviewed annually.
