Grade 8
admissions process
- The Grade 8 admissions process officially begins in January of the year before entry
- Our Grade 8 Open Day is held in Term 1 of the year prior to entry (bookings for this are essential)
- Only applicants who meet the entry requirements and have submitted all required documentation will be considered
- Selected applicants will be invited for an interview with the principal
- Placements are made in accordance with the school’s Admissions Policy
- Successful candidates will receive their Grade 8 Offer of Enrolment at the start of Term 2 of the year preceding the entry year
Required documents
To complete a Grade 8 application, the following must be submitted:
- Grade 6 Term 4 School Report
- Mini-CV
- Motivational letter
- Awards and certificates
- Student photo
- Application for placement terms and conditions form
- Confidential student evaluation form (provided by the Admissions Office)
- Only completed applications will be considered for placement

Scholarship examination for all qualifying applicants – Academic, Music and Sport: Saturday 28 February 2026 (by invitation only)
Music scholarship/bursary auditions, tests, and interviews: by invitation only

Offers of scholarships, bursaries, and ordinary places: Friday 17 April 2026

Applications for Grade 8 can be submitted two years before the intended year of entry. Early applications are not a waiting list determinant.

No. Only selected candidates who have completed the Grade 8 application process may be invited to attend an interview with the principal.
No. An invitation to attend an interview does not guarantee placement at the school. It forms part of the admissions process.

Yes. A non-refundable application fee of R500 is required to complete an application and to register your daughter on our waiting list.
Yes. We offer weekly and termly boarding in Katherine House to High School students. Please request an Application for Boarding Form once you have completed your application.
Parents/guardians will need to accept the offer and complete the required enrolment documentation within the specified timeframe to secure the place.
