While building a strong academic foundation is a key focus, many of our girls participate in the full arts and sports programmes on offer.
The Music Department offers tuition in piano, violin, recorder, drums, band, Orff (mini marimbas) and many other instruments, and we have a large and talented choir. The school puts on regular drama productions where each girl is involved in some aspect of the play.
The Sports Department has adopted an approach to sport known as the long-term athlete development model (LTAD Model). The focus is a progressive and developmental one, and is skills based. When they are ready to participate at a competitive level, we have found our girls to be strong, focused and balanced athletes.
The Round Square ethos underpins the approach to teaching and learning right from the Foundation Phase years.
The focus on building values and shaping character and attitudes can be seen in the way our girls take on the many opportunities on offer: social projects, outings, conferences and environmental initiatives. At the Grade 7 level, our girls have the opportunity of attending the national, annual Young Round Square Conference.
When our Grade 7s leave us for High School, we are proud of their academic achievement and humbled by their emotional development. These confident young ladies are eager and ready for the next part of their journey through St Cyprian’s School.
